31st December 2022 Multisport - Trip Report: Wind Direction: Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: Max Speed: Distance Covered: Another active year on the beach with over now 30 in the Whatsapp wing group and more joining the windsurf group. Big difference this year was winging opening up light wind and gusty days, and also sacrificing a lot of good wind/kite days to learn winging. I find winging harder to learn than I expected, though some, such as surfers, pick it up very fast, Total No. of wind/kite/wing/sail/wake sessions was 227 with wing/wind/kite on 182 days (multiple sessions some days) and 1 catamaran, so was wind powered 50% of days this year. Number of Sessions; Kite surfing 19 Catamaran 1 Wakeboarding 15 Windsurfing 52 Wing Boarding 140 Sails used - 3.7m (3), 4.2m (11), 4.7m (31), 5.3m (10), 6m (1). I didn’t use 7.5m at all as winged then. Kites used - 9m (7), 11m (11). Wing – 4m (34), 5 & 5.3m (69), 6.2m (72) – taking me from strong 4.7m windsurf weather to when a 7.5m wouldn’t get going Correlating kites and wings to windsurf sail sizes 7% of session were <=4.2m, 28% <=4.7m, 45% <=5.3m and 61% <=6m.
